Benedict Cumberbatch Plays a High-Stakes Gambler in Wes Anderson’s Latest Short Film, The Wonderful Story Of Henry Sugar

Wes Anderson, the mastermind behind the hit film Asteroid City, is not slowing down. He has been busy creating a series of captivating shorts for Netflix based on Roald Dahl stories. The highly anticipated first installment, The Wonderful Story Of Henry Sugar, will be available for streaming in just a few weeks. Get a sneak peek at the trailer below.

In this short film, Benedict Cumberbatch takes on the role of Henry Sugar, a wealthy man who discovers a guru (played by Ben Kingsley) claiming to be able to see without using his eyes. Intrigued by the potential to increase his fortune further, Henry embarks on a journey to learn this extraordinary skill.

Written and directed by Anderson himself, The Wonderful Story Of Henry Sugar also features talented cast members such as Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel, and Richard Ayoade, who are part of Anderson’s renowned repertory company. Watch for Fiennes, who will appear in the other shorts based on Dahl’s stories.
