Pittsburgh Headlines the Region’s July 4 Celebration
The largest Independence Day celebration in Western Pennsylvania will once again take place in Downtown Pittsburgh, where fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.
Thousands of spectators are expected to gather along the city’s riverfronts, bridges, and parks for one of the state’s most popular Fourth of July traditions. Arriving early is recommended, as road closures, parking limitations, and heavy crowds are expected throughout the evening.

Several communities are also celebrating ahead of Independence Day, including Carnegie, Evans City, Findlay Township, Hampton Township, Oakdale Borough, Saxonburg, and Somerset on July 3, while Ellwood City will conclude the holiday weekend with fireworks on July 5.

Plan Ahead Before Heading Out
Because many fireworks shows begin shortly after sunset, organizers encourage visitors to arrive early for the best parking and viewing locations. Popular celebrations such as Pittsburgh, Kennywood, Monroeville, Canonsburg, and Mt. Lebanon are expected to attract large crowds.
