Second Homicide Within Three Miles in One Week
The deadly shooting is the second homicide investigation handled by the Baltimore County Police Department in the Gwynn Oak and Woodlawn area within the past week.

Police identified the victims as 9-year-old Steve Allen and 15-year-old Giovanna Marie, siblings who were found inside the residence after their parents called 911. Authorities said Giovanna attended Western High School.
The two homicide scenes are located approximately three miles apart, drawing increased attention to recent violent incidents in the surrounding communities.
Investigations Remain Active
At this time, authorities have not indicated that the two homicide investigations are connected. Detectives continue to investigate each case independently while gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses.
Officials have not released additional information regarding the motive behind Sunday’s shooting or whether investigators believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity that could assist law enforcement as both investigations continue.
Baltimore County Police said the homicide investigation into Sunday’s shooting remains active, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
