LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Authorities have released the identity of the woman who died following a hit-and-run crash last week in the Park Hill neighborhood.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed on Monday that the victim was 52-year-old Nakicia Spellman.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), the crash occurred at approximately 3:43 a.m. on Friday, August 14, in the 1100 block of West Oak Street, an area within the Park Hill neighborhood.
Officers said Spellman was struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene without stopping. She was rushed to UofL Hospital for treatment but did not survive her injuries.
As of Monday, investigators had not released a description of the vehicle involved, and the driver remains unidentified.
The LMPD Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation into the crash. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident, the vehicle, or the driver to come forward.
