VICTORVILLE, California — A routine afternoon at a local hotel turned into a tragedy on Monday when a woman was found lifeless in a swimming pool, leaving investigators and the community with more questions than answers.
Victorville police responded to the Beyond Stay Hotel on La Paz Drive just before 3 p.m. after hotel staff discovered a woman unresponsive in the swimming pool.
It was already too late.
Fire crews responded — but could not save her
Fire department personnel arrived quickly and pulled the woman from the water.
Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
No details have been released about how long she may have been in the pool or whether anyone witnessed what happened. Those are among the many details investigators are now working to piece together.
Her family has not yet been told
Authorities have not released the woman’s name or age. Her identity is being withheld until her next of kin can be properly notified.
That means somewhere, a family is going about their day — not yet knowing what happened to someone they love.
The investigation is ongoing
The circumstances surrounding her death are still under investigation. Police have not confirmed whether foul play is suspected or ruled out.
