Olathe, Kansas — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance as the search continues for a Kansas mother and her infant son who have been missing for nearly a month.
The Olathe Police Department says 28-year-old Caprice Viehouser and her 7-month-old son, Atreus Viehouser, were last seen on May 28, and investigators are working to determine their whereabouts after weeks without confirmed contact.
Officials say they are increasingly concerned for the welfare of both the mother and child as the investigation continues.
Mother and Infant Last Seen in Olathe
According to investigators, Caprice and Atreus were last seen in Olathe, Kansas, on May 28.
Authorities said the last known phone contact involving Caprice occurred on June 4, when investigators believe she was in Missouri.
Police believe she has ties to both the St. Louis area and Johnson County, Kansas, and those connections remain part of the ongoing search.
Investigators have not released additional details about where the pair may have traveled after that phone contact.
Police Concerned About Infant’s Well-Being
Authorities said they were alerted to the disappearance because of concerns regarding Caprice’s potential inability to properly care for Atreus.
Police have not disclosed the circumstances that led to those concerns but say locating both the mother and child remains the department’s top priority.
