Teen Motorcyclist Dies in Fayette County Collision with Box Truck

A fatal crash in Georges Township, Fayette County, has claimed the life of a 17-year-old rider from Lake Lynn.

Charles Plum lost his life on Thursday morning following a collision between his motorcycle and a box truck, according to a release issued by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

How the Crash Happened

Pennsylvania State Police reported that the incident occurred close to 8 a.m. at the junction of Morgantown Road and Valley School Road. Investigators say Plum was riding his Yamaha Virago 750 southbound on Morgantown Road, traveling at an elevated speed, when the box truck driver turned left onto Morgantown Road from Valley School Road, resulting in impact between the two vehicles.

Plum suffered severe injuries in the collision and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical staff later confirmed his death. Police noted that the teen was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The box truck’s driver, a 51-year-old man, walked away from the scene unharmed.

Investigation Ongoing

State police have not yet released further findings and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
