Loganville, GA: Police Search for Jonesboro Man After Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 81

LOGANVILLE, Ga. — Authorities in Loganville are looking for a man hailing from Jonesboro in connection with the accident that occurred on Saturday, and the police are currently conducting a manhunt for him.

The crash occurred around 11:35 am on Highway 81 near Tara Commons Drive, involving two cars in total. As claimed by the law enforcement officials, the driver named Jacob Connell left the spot soon after the accident occurred.

According to an eyewitness account, a gunshot was heard while Connell drove off, however, the police have yet not been able to confirm whether a gun was fired during the incident or not.

Police officials from the Walton County Sheriff’s office used their K-9 unit in order to find Connell but the efforts proved to be fruitless and he couldn’t be tracked down.

The accident has led to just a handful of minor injuries, according to authorities.

Connell now has an extensive list of charges related to the incident, including charges of not maintaining a lane, or hit and run. Moreover, Connell has already accumulated arrest warrants out from another jurisdiction.

The police have yet to reveal any details about Connell’s description or the vehicle he was driving.

Police have called on anyone with information that may help them locate Connell to call 911.
