CAMBRIDGE CITY, INDIANA — A dangerous flash flood emergency has been declared for Cambridge City, Brownsville, and Dunlapsville after torrential rain overwhelmed the region, leaving roadways submerged under as much as five feet of water and forcing residents to scramble for safety.

Local law enforcement confirmed that floodwaters in Cambridge City reached depths capable of sweeping vehicles off the road entirely. Officers are warning that anyone caught driving through these conditions faces extreme, life-threatening risk, and they are urging residents to abandon their vehicles and head for higher ground rather than attempt to push through.
