A chapter of small-town life in Rippey is coming to a close. Sparky’s One Stop, the community’s longtime convenience store and fuel stop, will shut its doors for good at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28th, ending nearly 30 years of service to local residents and passing travelers.
For three decades, Sparky’s has been far more than a place to fill up a tank or grab a snack. It has functioned as an informal town square — a spot where neighbors crossed paths, caught up on local news, and relied on the store for everyday essentials like groceries and fuel. When the doors finally close this week, the gas pumps will be switched off as well, marking a symbolic end to a business that many in Rippey grew up with.
