Southington Shooting Leaves 25-Year-Old Fighting for Life, Second Man Hurt in Separate Assault Outside Cadillac Ranch

Two men were rushed to the hospital Wednesday night after a shooting and a separate assault broke out near Cadillac Ranch in Southington, according to police.

Officers were called to the scene around 7 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.

While responding to the shooting, police say officers also came across a 44-year-old man who appeared to have been assaulted separately. He too was transported for treatment and is said to be in stable condition.

Authorities noted that the scale of the incident — involving multiple victims and a high level of severity — led them to activate the department’s Blue Plan, a protocol that brings in backup from surrounding law enforcement agencies to help manage the response.

Connecticut State Police have since joined local officers in investigating the case.

As of now, the events remain under active investigation. Police say more information is expected to come out around 9 a.m. Thursday.
