Stuttgart, Arkansas — A community in eastern Arkansas is searching for answers after three children were injured in a shooting near a public aquatic center over the weekend, prompting a major police response and the closure of a popular recreational facility.
Authorities said the incident occurred Saturday afternoon near the John Cain Aquatic Center, a gathering place for families and children during the summer months.

According to the Stuttgart Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly before 5 p.m. local time after receiving reports of shots fired near the aquatic center.
