4-Year-Old Boy Found Safe After Amber Alert Issued Across Southern California

A 4-year-old boy has been found safe after an Amber Alert was issued across Southern California, authorities said Tuesday.

The California Highway Patrol issued the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department after the child, identified as Selah Tillary, went missing.

What Happened

Tillary was last seen around 11 a.m. on Aug. 19 near W. Manchester Avenue and Hoover Street in Los Angeles, in the company of a man identified by police as 23-year-old Donnel Paige.

The boy was described by authorities as a Black child standing about 3 feet tall and weighing approximately 45 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, blue sweatpants and blue checkered shoes.

Paige was described as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 155 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was believed to be on foot and was last seen wearing a white shirt and black pants or shorts.

Boy Located Tuesday Night

CHP officials announced around 8:30 p.m. that the child had been located. Authorities did not immediately release details on where the boy was found or his condition.

It also remains unclear whether Paige is facing charges in connection with the child’s disappearance.
