28-year-old woman found dead inside a tent in Allentown — and her identity has just been revealed

ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania — A young woman found unresponsive inside a tent on a city street has been identified, authorities announced Wednesday — and the circumstances of her death are still under investigation.

Diamond Y. Jenkins, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 200 block of West Union Street on Tuesday, July 14, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

Jenkins is believed to have been experiencing homelessness at the time of her death.

What Investigators Know So Far

An autopsy was completed Wednesday at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center.

Her cause and manner of death remain pending the results of toxicological and microscopic testing. Those results can take several weeks to return.

At this time, the Allentown Police Department and the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office — both actively investigating — say they have found no evidence of foul play or suspicious activity.

Who Diamond Jenkins Was

Jenkins was originally from New York but had made Allentown her home.

She attended Liberty High School and Lehigh Carbon Community College, according to her social media.

Beyond those details, little else about her life has been publicly shared. She was 28 years old.

Loved ones who wish to share memories, photos, or funeral information are encouraged to reach out to local authorities handling her case.

Her death is a reminder of how many people in our communities are living without shelter — and how quickly a life can be lost without anyone nearby to help.
