Hollywood stars Margot Robbie and Olivia Wilde are poised to create cinematic magic with the upcoming movie adaptation of the ‘Avengelyne’ comic series. Wilde, recognized for her directorial work in ‘Don’t Worry Darling,’ is shouldering the directorial responsibilities for this high-octane superhero film based on Rob Liefeld’s celebrated character.

Producing the feature is none other than the talented Robbie through her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, along with trusted collaborators Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara. Renowned ‘X-Men’ series writer and producer Simon Kinberg is also on board, bringing his storytelling prowess into the mix.

The search for the lead—who will portray the celestial warrior Avengelyne, known for her epic battles against demonic forces—is still on. While previous attempts to bring the character to life on-screen, featuring Gina Carano in 2013 and an Akiva Goldsman-directed effort in 2016, did not quite succeed, this fresh endeavor brings renewed hope and Hollywood star power.

Behind a track record of impactful film projects such as ‘Promising Young Woman’ and ‘Saltburn,’ 33-year-old Robbie has hinted at aspirations to direct. In conversation with Variety, she revealed her inner battle between taking on the director’s mantle and producing, which promises non-stop excitement.

Although Robbie savors the learning experience from her on-set observation of accomplished directors, the possibility of her directing a feature looms on the horizon, with her describing it as a cherished dream.
