Nashville, Tennessee — A 12-year-old boy lost his life after gunfire erupted during a large fight near Nashville’s downtown theater district, leading to the arrest of a 24-year-old man accused of opening fire as people fled the scene.
The deadly shooting occurred Sunday night near the Tennessee Performing Arts Center and has left a community mourning the loss of a young life while investigators continue piecing together exactly what happened.
Police say evidence collected from the scene, including video footage, played a key role in identifying the suspect.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the incident unfolded at the intersection of Representative John Lewis Way and Deaderick Street, an area located adjacent to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.
Investigators said a confrontation involving approximately six to seven individuals escalated into a physical fight.
