Honoring the 2024 Green Market Report Women in Cannabis Award Winners

At the Green Market Report’s 2024 Women in Cannabis Summit in New York, we honored exceptional women who have forged their own paths in the industry. Here is a brief introduction to each award winner:

Advocacy: Danielle Drummond, Ascend Wellness Holdings

Danielle Drummond, VP of Social Equity at Ascend Wellness, has over 15 years of leadership in advocating for social impact across various sectors, including education, criminal justice, and community health. She is dedicated to fostering a sustainable industry while championing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and restorative justice.

Ancillary: Green Rebates

Green Rebates specializes in securing energy rebates and incentives for horticulture production. This award recognizes the efforts of two key team members:

• Cristina Zamora, Director of Finance and Human Resources, manages compliance, regulatory, and accounting functions, ensuring the company’s successful expansion and positive cash flow.
• Hannah Massey, Director of Rebates, oversees end-to-end management of rebate projects, securing substantial rebates for customers, including submitting over $1 million in rebates within 24 hours to meet a deadline.

As co-chair of McGlinchey Stafford’s Cannabis Industry Group, Heidi Urness is a sought-after advisor on cannabis-related legal issues. She played a pivotal role in the SEC’s prosecution of a multistate marijuana Ponzi scheme and provides in-depth counsel to licensees and ancillary businesses.

Public Relations: Zoe Wilder

With over two decades in public relations, Zoe Wilder has worked with hundreds of clients to develop inventive promotional campaigns. She was instrumental in expanding Jim Belushi’s brand, Belushi’s Farm, and is an ambassador for the Last Prisoner Project.

Science/Research: Dr. Alisha Holloway, Phylos

As Chief Scientific Officer at Phylos, Dr. Alisha Holloway leads a team of geneticists, chemists, and agronomists in developing seed-based cannabis varieties with enhanced potency, flavor, and resilience. Her team also focuses on cultivars with high levels of rare cannabinoids like THCV.

Technology/Data: Stevie Palmateer, LeafLink

Stevie Palmateer, Chief Technology Officer at LeafLink with 15 years in technology and computer science, oversees the company’s technological advancements, facilitating better data management and business operations.
