Surf Bagel has officially opened its newest location in Newark, Delaware, bringing a fresh breakfast and lunch option to the Christiana area. The grand opening was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce.
Community Turns Out for the Opening
The ceremony drew Surf Bagel team members, Chamber staff and ambassadors, and representatives from New Castle County Council. Company President Matt Patton expressed gratitude for the local support.
“We are very fortunate to have the support of the New Castle County Chamber,” Patton said. “It makes a big difference for new businesses to have a support system that can help make connections and identify opportunities to get involved in the community.”
Warm Welcome From Newark Residents
Surf Bagel Christiana opened its doors on June 13, 2026, and the response has been strong. Wes Books, Vice President of Operations, said the community reception has been overwhelmingly positive.
“The people in the Newark community have given our team such a warm welcome,” Books said. “People are stoked to have a great breakfast and lunch option that provides fast, friendly service and a consistent product. We’re just having fun making the best bagels around.”
