Orange, California — A 28-year-old Orange County man has been arrested on homicide charges after police say he intentionally drove his vehicle into an apartment complex courtyard and fatally struck another man following a confrontation over the weekend.

Police Responded to Reports of a Fight

According to the Orange Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of South Fashion Park Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. on June 13 after receiving reports of a fight in the area.

When officers arrived, investigators said the suspected driver, identified as Abrahan Perez, 28, of Orange, had already left the scene in a vehicle.

Authorities began gathering information about the disturbance, but the situation quickly escalated when Perez allegedly returned to the apartment complex.

Suspect Allegedly Drove Into Apartment Courtyard

Police said Perez drove his vehicle onto a courtyard area within the apartment complex and accelerated toward an adult male victim.

According to investigators, the vehicle struck the victim, causing severe injuries.

“The vehicle struck the victim, causing critical injuries,” the Orange Police Department stated in a news release.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Despite efforts by medical staff, the victim later died from his injuries.
