Austin, Texas Film Fest Sets to Break “Conventional Circuit” Mold in December
Festival directors offer merit-based programming complete with Texas BBQ
Get ready for a truly unique film festival experience this holiday season with the inaugural “WE REGRET TO INFORM YOU” film festival on December 2nd and 3rd in Austin, Texas. This out-of-the-box event, hosted at the EP Events Center (located at 16912 N Interstate Hwy 35, Austin, TX 78728), is the brainchild of renowned film and television star Grayson Berry – known for his roles in “Days of Our Lives,” “Vengeance,”
Filmmakers, cast members, award-winners, and industry insiders will attend, offering festival-goers an opportunity to connect with the creative minds behind these remarkable productions. Attendees can participate in meet and greets, engaging breakout sessions, and Red Carpet video interviews conducted by the talented actress and hostess Abby Killin.
Berry shared his insights on why he conceived of the event, “As filmmakers and producers, Ryan and I have long had a love-hate relationship with the film festival circuit. Often, these events seem like shoddily run ‘pay to play’ dog-and-pony shows … offering awards to whatever trendy, new flicks tick the industry’s current boxes on what’s ‘hip’ or have the ‘narrative of the minute’. We aim to create a merit-based platform where underdog creators from all genres and backgrounds can be rewarded for their powerful storytelling, innovative cinematography, vulnerable performances, or good old-fashioned filmmaking fun!”
The “WE REGRET TO INFORM YOU” film festival will showcase over 15 feature films, shorts, and documentaries, encompassing various genres. The lineup will feature three exciting world premieres.
- “CRUZADO” – An action-adventure historical feature by Texas filmmaker Jason Ramirez.
- “BACK IN THE SADDLE” – A rom-com short created by the talented writer/producer/
director Ronda Suder.
- “THE OTHER WOMAN” – A thrilling horror/fantasy short by the same team as “CRUZADO”.
Festival Co-Director Ward enthused, “Submissions have come from all over the world … including faith-based dramas, comic horror pieces, romantic comedies, metaphysical documentaries, and more! There truly is something for everyone. Plus, we’ll have Texas BBQ … what can be better than that?”
