In memory of the beloved actor Matthew Perry, a foundation dedicated to assisting those battling drug and alcohol addiction has been established.
The Matthew Perry Foundation is now officially operational and accepting donations.

• Perry had expressed his desire to create the foundation before passing on October 28th. He wanted to prioritize helping others over his fame.
• Guided by his words and experiences, the Foundation is fueled by Perry’s passion for making a difference in as many lives as possible.

• The National Philanthropic Trust is the sponsor and steward of the foundation, having raised more than $49 billion since its inception.
• On October 28th, Perry was discovered unresponsive in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles; first responders were unable to revive him, and the exact cause of death is pending toxicology reports.
• Known for his role as Chandler Bing on “Friends,” Perry’s presence will now extend far beyond the small screen through The Matthew Perry Foundation.

Perry had expressed his desire to create such a foundation before his unfortunate passing on October 28. He wanted to prioritize helping others over his fame as a beloved cast member of the hit show “Friends.”

Perry believed that addiction could only be overcome through collective effort, stating, “Addiction is far too powerful for anyone to defeat alone. But together, one day at a time, we can beat it down.”

Following Perry’s sudden demise, his friends and loved ones were determined to turn his vision into a reality, which has now come to fruition.

“In honor of Matthew Perry’s unwavering dedication to assisting those struggling with addiction, we embark on a mission to preserve his legacy by establishing The Matthew Perry Foundation. Guided by his own words and experiences, and fueled by his passion for making a difference in as many lives as possible,” stated the foundation’s announcement.

Perry, who battled addiction himself, was discovered unresponsive in his Los Angeles home hot tub on October 28. First responders were unsuccessful in reviving him. The exact cause of death is still pending the results of toxicology reports. Perry was 54 years old.

Aside from his global fame, Perry received an Emmy nomination for his iconic portrayal of the witty and lovable Chandler Bing on the long-running NBC TV series “Friends.”

Now, with The Matthew Perry Foundation, his impactful presence will extend far beyond the small screen.
