Renowned film editor Steven Weisberg, known for his work on movies such as “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” and “Great Expectations,” has died at 68. His career spanned from the ’90s, including collaborations with esteemed directors like Alfonso Cuarón and Barry Sonnenfeld.

Weisberg’s ex-wife, Susan Ellicott, confirmed his passing, revealing that he had received care for early-onset Alzheimer’s. Throughout his career, Weisberg showcased his talents in various genres, from franchise filmmaking to studio comedies.

His notable credits include editing Cuarón’s films “Great Expectations” and “A Little Princess,” as well as the highly successful “Harry Potter” installment. He also worked on projects like “The Cable Guy,” directed by Ben Stiller, and a range of Barry Sonnenfeld films.

Weisberg’s final credit was in 2012 with “Hope Springs,” starring Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones. Born in New York City, Weisberg earned degrees from Syracuse University and Binghamton University before launching his successful editing career in the 1980s.

He is survived by his sons, Nathaniel and Joseph. Weisberg’s talent and contribution to the film industry will be greatly missed.
