Historically, women have always had the upper hand in being awarded child custody. Statistics show that women win child custody rights a staggering 90% of the time, even though fathers play an essential role in their children’s lives pre and post-divorce.
In a new movie scheduled to enter production in the spring of 2023, Ryan McVey portrays Ryan Rumble, a desperate father who, after suffering a heartbreaking tragedy in the line of duty as a firefighter, fights against all odds to stay in his daughter’s life amid a brutal divorce.
While coerced to fight for the mob, Rumble discovers his true self, an unexpected love, and rises in the ranks of the Port City hierarchy. Will fighting for what means the most cost this father his life?
This is the premise for Mayhem Film’s production “Port City. “Inspired by such movies as Fight Club, Warrior, and Crazy Stupid Love, “Port City,” explores the themes of love v.s. Greed in this action drama. With a talented, dedicated, and award-winning cast and crew to bring to life an exciting, bare-knuckle story that will be told with a quality cinematic look. Port City will reveal the dingy and dark side of the beautiful city of Savannah, GA, and the colorful, compelling characters this story entails.
Co-written by Ryan McVey (known for The Hostess City (2019) and Stars Fell Again.) and Jaron Wallace (Preyed Upon (2020), Self-Hell (2020) and Grindsploitation 5: Schlocksploitation (2018).), and directed by Jaron Wallace. Cinematographer Thomas Seidle (known for Inzombniac (2018) and I Am Going to Kill Someone This Friday (2018) will handle the camera and electrical on set.

Ryan McVey is a former US Marine and Fireman/Medic, now working as an Actor and Producer in film, TV, and commercials combined with training and experience in Video production, acting, and content creation. With his business partner and producer, Brad Watts, they bring real-life experiences as firefighters, U.S. Marines, martial arts, and a working knowledge of filmmaking to this feature film, “Port City.”
“Port City,” a feature-length action drama, has a projected budget of $75 thousand, for which it is eligible for local tax incentives. It has a scheduled shoot of 15 days or three weeks. It will start filming Principal photography in the Fall of 2023.
