Michigan’s Collective Development Inc. keeps the movies rolling to the world market

LANSING, Mich.June 3, 2022PRLog — The Michigan-based production company Collective Development Inc. (CDI) continues to steadily move forward in the face of worldwide challenges with several projects releasing and in development. The company’s goal is to bring positive, quality content to a world in need of unifying stories.

On May 31st the long-awaited home video release of the Melissa Anschutz led mystery-thriller BESTSELLER, adapted from Michigan author Christopher Knight’s book of the same name, started its rollout with distributor Deskpop Entertainment.

July 5th will see the release of BEST YEARS GONE, adapted from Michigan author Karl Manke’s book “Hope from Heaven”. This film most recently was recognized with a pair of runner-up awards for BEST ROMANCE and Best Comedy from the BareBones International Film & Music Festival. Previous to that it received recognition winning Best Comedy, Best Lead Actor (DJ Perry), and Best Cinematography (Travis Hayward) at the London-based Maverick Film Awards.

FOR THE LOVE OF CATCH is a feature documentary that establishes the history of the grappling arts. With kings of the sport like Randy Couture, Dan Severn, Josh Burnett, and Dan Gable giving an entertaining look at the sport’s history. CDI produced the documentary with The Red, White, and Blue Project Inc. non-profit. It will release later this year again with DESKPOP ENTERTAINMENT.

SMOKE & MIRRORS is a steampunk, turn-of-the-century, short concept film adapted from DJ Perry’s feature script of the same name. It was directed by Nathaniel Nose and stars David Gries and Melissa Anschutz.  It will premiere at a yet-to-be-announced festival this year.

SILENT NIGHT IN ALGONA the WW2 Christmas story is targeting an Iowa World Premiere in December. From there they plan to release the film theatrically in Iowa and beyond. The film’s home video release will target the run-up to the 2023 holiday season on DVD, TV, and streaming worldwide.

HARSENS ISLAND REVENGE is the next book to screen collaboration between author Karl Manke and CDI. DJ Perry has again been hired to adapt the book into a screenplay and film the story. CDI plans to roll cameras second half of 2023 on this 1920s prohibition tale.

Aside from all the new releases, CDI is in active development on HOT ROD LOVE. From a DJ Perry screenplay, the film is slated to be directed by Shane Hagedorn. The film is a fun ’70s romp about a pair of women who dream of breaking into the male-dominated world of drag racing. Currently, CDI is still lining up its sponsors and backers but plans to film in the second half of 2022 in Michigan.
