In case you missed it, either because of scheduling conflicts or because you felt that the drive was too far to justify the outrageously high gas prices, the MiFIA has another Town Hall planned for May 11. This was will be held at Lowing Studios, 245 Airway Street NE, Grand Rapids.  This event is scheduled to run from 6.00 PM and will run until 8:00 PM.

Last month’s Town Hall, was held on April 21 at the Studio Center, Stage A, in Farmington Hills.  A counted 280 people were present for this.  This turn-out is expected to be even bigger.  If you are presently part of Michigan’s film industry, you do not want to miss this.  MiFIA is working towards the second Michigan Film Incentives, bills for which are in both the Michigan House and Senate.

Come to find out more about the incentives and how you can get involved to help establish an incentive that would bring film, TV, commercial, and other media work to Michigan.

The film community, legislators, and small business owners will gather for an informational event to support the passage of a new Michigan film incentive.

Let’s show legislators the broad support the film industry provides for all kinds of businesses like hotels & travel, restaurants & caterers, lumber yards & hardware stores, florists & bakers, etc.  Small business owners who have benefitted from supporting films in the past are encouraged to attend.

RSVP now and you’ll be updated with the time and venue, and with reminders and any changes.  A social hour will start from 6 to 7 PM, and the program will begin at 7 PM.

Please RSVP on the MiFIA website by clicking the link below, so you may receive event updates and we can get an official count of attendees.
