Jane Dabish will host a double-bill of two of her films, “Borderline Crazy” and “Everyone’s High But Mary Jane” at the Engineering Center, Rochester, Michigan, May 22, 2021. Doors open at 530pm; the movie begins at 6 PM. Because of the pandemic lockdown, it is suggested that you reserve your tickets early. Seating is strictly limited.
Opening the program is, “Everyone’s High But Mary Jane” a stoner comedy shot last fall about a gal named Mary Jane and her friends who, all being hippies, are always, not surprisingly, getting high. What else? Mary Jane is a writer who prefers to remain marijuana-free as it helps her relax, and helps with her ADD.
Written, directed, and produced by Jane Dabish, “Everyone’s High But Mary Jane,” was produced by 2 in a Frame Production/Jane Dabish Films. “Everyone’s High But Mary Jane” stars Allah Ann Giddings in the starring role as Mary Jane, Thomas Reilly-King (known for Enduring Destiny (2014), Sexual Animals (2019), Mark of the Wolf (TV series, 2020), Dinah Tutein (known for Reanimated (TV series, 2019), and debuting in their first movie, Bill Edwards, Troy Smauldon, and Jeanine Kress.
Sharing the billing, described as a slice-of-life psychodrama dripping with excitement, “Borderline Crazy” was written and directed by Jane “Dab” Dabish. It stars a mixed cast of actors who either have had experience in front of the camera, including Heather Robinson (Known for Oblivion (I) (2011), Divination (II) (2011), RoadKill (2011), Goodbye Walt (2012) as Claire, Dale Dobson (known for Out For Violence (2021),Stoners (2019) as William, Trono Hudgins (Blood Angel (2012) as Dean, Nicole Joi (American Violence (2014) as Jessica, and actors debuting in their the first film, Andy McNamara as Ted, Paige Lynn Perry as Alice, Sherita Thompson as Dawn, and Jennifer Wade as Cel.
In “Borderline Crazy,” Ceil can’t separate her dreams from reality. Does she still get repetitive dreams or do her dreams get to her? Does Claire her best friend help her through it Does it get better for Ceil? You’ll have to see it to find out more!
