After completing its film festival run, Dave Tappan’s period short “Chocolate and Cigarettes” can now be viewed on Vimeo.
“Chocolate and Cigarettes” is the short story of Nick, an awkward flight attendant, who, after a long shift, bumbles his way through wooing his beautiful coworker, crashing in the process.
Obsessed with the technicolor musicals from the 40’s and 50’s and with more arthouse filmmakers like Woody Allen, Paul Thomas Anderson, Jacques Demy, Max Ophuls, and Federico Fellini, Dave Tappan’s film has a universal appeal as a story of unrequited love.
Written and directed by Dave Tappan, produced by Tappan / Jackson / Rosenau Production in association with Woodward Original, this short flick stars Michael McCallum as Nick, Alora Catherine Smith as Cassidy, and Jenna Sofia as Mindy, with cinematography by Patrick Dowdle (The Cager (2015), .Some Are Born (2015), For the Birds (2018)).
