November 27, 2018 was a big night for Michael McCallum and 22 other teams who participated in the 48 Hour Film Project: Detroit-Horror’s awards ceremony.  It was the night every one found out who the winners were in different categories.

For Michael it was a particularly exciting night. He, along with his team from Rebel Pictures found out that they had won not one, but three awards for their participation.

As Michael tells it, “Last night was fantastic! Scott Baisden and I made the trip down to Orchid Ferndale for the 48 Hour Film Project: Detroit-Horror’s awards ceremony, where we took home BEST ACTOR- Scott Baisden, BEST SOUND and BEST FILM-2nd Place out of 23 teams!”

Michael McCallum/Rebel Pictures was called “Bequeathed”.   In it, a man is given a package that his recently deceased Father wanted him to have.  The tag-line for this short is “What’s Left Isn’t Wanted.”

“We had a great time and a lot of laughs with wonderful friends, Richard Barnes, Nicolette Book and Jacolyn Higby.

“Congrats to my cast and crew that made this cool dark little tale. This is just the start for it. I’m so proud of the work we did.

“A big thank you to Jennifer Gentner for putting on such a cool event.”
