In the time that the trailer for the fan-flick “Revenge of the Mask” has been online (it was posted on youtube October 1,  2018),  this teaser trailer has gone viral and racked up an impressive 8M+ views.

Now “Revenger of the Mask” has scaled the dizzying heights of the IMDB MOVIEmeter.  and “is ranked better than most studio features.”  It is now #1 out of 647,175 titles,  and the short film which it promotes has not yet been released.

How does this make the “Revenge” team feel?  Boasts Lance Kawas, director.  “When your unreleased short film is the number one most popular short on IMDB,  the only thing you can say is ‘Fuck Yeah?’ How? – and sorry can’t settle for number 2 at this particular moment.”

Based on the Dark Horse comic series “The Mask”,  this movie follows a new character, Alan, who finds there is a thin line between hero and monster. This bloody adaptation blends the story elements created by Mike Richardson with the stylistic overtones from the 1994 film version of “The Mask”.

“This movie is dark and more true and natural in comic book nature the the first movie with Jim Carrey. ” says comic book historian Charles Terry.

Written by Athena Isabel Lebessis, Kyle Parker and Dylan Sides, “Revenge of the Mask”  stars Michael Bugard, Tim Parrish, Athena Isabel Lebessis.
