The Ring of Steel Action Theatre and Stunt Troupe will host the 2nd Annual Fights and Basic Stunts for Actors, September 29-30, 2018, at the Performance Arts Theater, 3907 Varsity Dr, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Established in 1989, Ring of Steel Action Theatre and Stunt Troupe is a theatrical combat organization providing classes, training, custom fight choreography, fight direction, weapons rentals, and many other stunt services to the public at large.
You won’t always have the option (or budget) for a stunt double, but having a basic familiarity with the techniques used (and keeping your skills warm) will help the stunt and fight coordinators work with you to get the most out of your role. No one is expecting you to be a stunt person yourself, but knowing these basic skills will make you more valuable to directors. Stop listing that college course from 5 years ago and bring your resume up to date!
Training will include:
– Hand to hand styles (soft and hard)
– Basic swordplay and knife work
– Gun safety and use on set
– Rolls, falls, and take down
– Wirework, flying, and the equipment used
Raw footage of the training will also be provided for your demo reel.
Come join The Ring of Steel Action Theatre and Stunt Troupe as they present their Fights and Stunt intensive workshop focused specifically for age 18+ actors (both film and stage)!
Training will occur on Sat and Sun (Sept 29th/30th) and use this format:
10am – 2pm: Training (15 min midway break)
2pm – 3pm: Lunch
3pm – 7pm: Training (15 min midway break).
Tickets are $150 ($125 before Aug 25th) total for both days!
