‘Rec-Man’ the movie premieres August 11 in Detroit

The premiere of “Rec-Man” the movie is quickly approaching.   Scheduled for Saturday, August 11th,  it will screen at the  Bel Air Luxury Cinema,  10100 8 Mile Rd E, Detroit, Michigan.  There are two showtimes:  5:30 PM – 8 PM.

In “Rec-Man” Tokkyo Faison plays the part of James Braxton Jr.,  a recreation instructor at the Andrew Young Recreation Center.

Known as “Rec Man” because of his proficiency at numerous recreation activities, including: martial arts, table tennis, gymnastics, basketball, baseball, various table games etc.,  he is outstanding at them all and is somewhat of a legend to the neighborhood and the city at large.


Motivated to be the best at what he does, by the values that were instilled in him by his father, James Braxton Sr. who taught him the value of using leisure time in a positive way,  Rec Man has to fight proposed budget cuts and The Out Cold Boyz or OCB to keep the Young Center from closing.

Little does he realize, something far more sinister and deadly is at work and it is up to him, the staff and the police to stop it.

Written and directed by  H Wolfe III, “Rec Man” stars  Odell Johnson, Julzie Gravel, Earnest Lee , Tokkyo Faison, and other Detroit talent.  It is produced by  Rainbow Visions Video and Rec Man.
