Don Overton’s ‘Be Somebody’ premieres August 26

Don Overton‘s much anticipated, Detroit based crime thriller “Be Somebody” will premiere Sunday, August 26, 2018, at the AMC Star Southfield 20, 25333 W. 12 Mile Road Southfield, Michigan.

The story of a novelist who is encouraged to adopt the persona of one of his characters to complete an overdue novel finds himself in the middle of a gambling ring run by local gangsters.   Forced to “Be Somebody” else to get out of this situation,  he quickly learns that he isn’t the only unfortunate soul in the cross-hairs of a local syndicate.

Written by Don and Carla Overton,  this crime-thriller-drama filmed entirely in the Big D was directed by Don Overton and was produced by Sun Kings Films, Black Cabin Entertainment, United Pictures, Urban Vision Ent.

“Be Somebody” stars  Emmy nominated Melvin Jackson, Jr. (“The Wire” and “The New Edition Movie”).  Cisco Reyes (“Next Day Air”), Amanda Bobby Cooper (A/K/A ABC of the UFC, UFC 224: Nunes vs. Pennington) Harley Wallen (“Into a Dark Mind” “Betrayed”)  Brenton Herwat, Diana C.
