Kyyba Films hosts meet and greet for Sam Khaleghi’s film “Devil’s Night: Dawn of the Nain Rouge”

Thursday, April 5, 2018,  people gathered at the Orion Center, Lake Orion for a meet and greet with the cast of Sam Logan Khaleghi’s film “Devil’s Night: Dawn of the Nain Rouge.”

The Nain Rouge (French for “red dwarf”) also called “Demon of the Strait”, is a legendary creature of the Detroit, Michigan area whose appearance is said to presage misfortune.. Its legend dates back 300 years ago to the founder of Detroit, Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac.

Filmed largely in Lake Orion, Michigan,  with scenes shot around Detroit’s Packard Plant, the movie is chalked full with Michigan talent.

Directed and co-authored by Emmy nominated producer Sam Logan Kahlegi,  Sam grew up in Detroit; lead actress Jesi Jensen as Billie Jean Finnick, grew up in the Detroit/Toledo area; “Swifty” McVay, the founding member of D12,  plays Detroit’s mayor and offers a compositional nugget to the sound track;  Nathan Kane Mathers,  Eminem’s younger brother, debuts in this his first movie, hails from Detroit;  FOX 2’s Amy Andrews plays the mayor of Lake Orion; and Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh even gets to play the police chief.  Portraying the Nain Rouge is martial artist Jesse Dean Crawfis.   Also included in the cast are Ammar Nemo, Bobby Laenen, Grover McCants

Jesi Jensen, as Billie Jean Finnick,   is a military veteran who returns home, works in law enforcement and she’s assigned to a supernatural case that’s surrounded by urban myth and legend.

The film is expected to debut at Cannes Film Market in May 2018., before being submitted to the film festival circuit. After that, there will be a mid-west theatrical run through Emagine Theatres in Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis sometime next year with the goals of partnering with a major distributor.
