It was on this day,  July 20, 1975,  American actress, model and author Judy Greer was born.

Born Judith Therese Evans in Detroit, Michigan, Greer grew up in Redford Township and Livonia and attended Churchill High School, Livonia, Michigan.   She graduated from The Theatre School at DePaul University, Chicago in 1997.

Greer later adopted her mother’s maiden name for her stage name, as there were several other actresses named Judy or Judi Evans.

On television, Greer’s best known roles include Kitty Sanchez on Arrested Development, Ingrid Nelson/Fatty Magoo on It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Trixie on Californication, and Cheryl Tunt on the animated comedy series Archer.

In film, Greer is known for several supporting roles in romantic comedies, with appearances in What Women Want (2000), The Wedding Planner (2001), 13 Going on 30 (2004), 27 Dresses (2008) and Love & Other Drugs (2010). Her other film appearances include roles in The Descendants (2011), Carrie (2013) and Jurassic World (2015).

In November 2011, Greer was honored with the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award at the Denver Film Festival, where two films featuring Greer were in the festival’s programming, including a red carpet screening of Alexander Payne’s The Descendants and the Jay and Mark Duplass’ Jeff, Who Lives at Home. She is the first actress to be honored with the award.

Let’s all wish Judy Greer a belated Happy Birthday.  Perhaps next year we will be on time to make her day.    Sorry Judy.
