Noted for his scene stealing performances in a string of features like the genre bending action/comedy, “Overtime,” and the satirical sci-fi romp, “Piranha Sharks,” as founding father, Patrick Henry in Fox’s historical docudrama series, “Legends & Lies: The Patriots, Season 2,” multi-award winning actor John Wells has signed on to West Side Warriors’ production of the Michael Alexander directed “The Legend of Dog Lady Island.”

Says Alexander, “Sometimes things happen for a reason.  From the beginning I wanted this actor in my movie to play one of the lead bikers in the 1970s.  John Wells (is) one of the best actors I’ve ever seen.   I just signed him on as young Lucky. Welcome all the way from Louisville, Kentucky, my friend and great actor John Wells.”

A life long artist, John Wells began his film career in 2006.  He has since received acclaim for his versatility, expressive features, and dramatic presence on screen.   He   was called a “tour de force” in reviews for his performance in the depression era drama, “The Old Winter.”  And in 2015, Wells was recipient of the Médaillr d’Or for Outstanding Achievements in Film by a Kentuckian at the The Lexington Fashion Collaborative, Fashion and Film Awards.  The award was presented by Ms. Mona Juett, (Active) Kentucky State Commissioner of Film and Travel & Tourism.

Wells will be joining the already signed triumvirate of TJ Storm, “Iron Mike” Foster and   Justin James Kucsulain. In The Legend of Dog Lady Island TJ Storm is the native American chief Strong Wolf that lived on the island in the 1800s who starts this curse in motion.  Mike Foster is the French soldier, Dureau, who is more like a modern henchman; and Kucsulain who is to play biker Jim Twisted Thompson who does some horrible things.

The Legend of Dog Lady Island will explore the history and urban legends which exist around an island in Monroe, Michigan, fifteen miles north of the Michigan/Ohio state line from the early 1800s to the present day.

In addition to acting, John is a writer, musician, fitness enthusiast, and family man. Recently he has taken on the mantle of producer on a handful of his own film endeavors.
