“Detroit Steel,” a new reality series will premier at 10 p.m. Saturday on the History Channel.
Focusing on a car customization shop, Mobsteel, which has locations in Brighton and Detroit, and creates beautiful, powerful rides from vehicles in various states of disrepair. “Detroit Steel” draws viewers into the city’s history and love affair with automobiles and introduces them to the men and women who make up the industry, according to Genei.
Genei and his wife, Pam, own Mobsteel and Detroit Steel Wheel, which builds custom steelies for cars.
The “Detroit Wheels” series is a rebranded version of “Mobsteel,” which ran on NBCSN, the NBC Sports network, in 2015. ”To be a part of the A&E family on History is a big deal. It’s everybody’s story around here (in Detroit),” says Genei.
Genei plans on opening a public showroom at its Detroit location sometime this spring.
